statement
I am a mixed media artist located in the Philadelphia
area. Many of my ideas in terms of art making can be
traced back to my early childhood memories of being
unable to stay in the lines while coloring. This was
something where at the time seemed wrong and left me
frustrated. I have since then embraced that struggle and
have made it my goal in art to always create something
that speaks in an abstract dialogue.
Rather then starting a piece with a specific idea in my
mind, I work intuitively. In my work I try to express my
vision through organic shapes, color and texture. I work
non traditionally combining mediums on a two
dimensional surface to build the illusion of texture.
Artists that have had the greatest influence on me are
the French Impressionists. Their subject matter,
composition and focus on color and light are things that
I admire and try to capture in my own work.
With the completion of each piece, I find new challenges
to face and overcome. I continue to learn from my work
and confront these issues.
